We believe modern Yoga studios have a responsibility to honour the roots and essence of the practice. Yoga as a living science for understanding both the microcosm and the macrocosm.
While recognising that modern life is far removed from the lives of Sadhus in the Himalayas, we offer ourselves grace. Yoga, in both practice and philosophy, meets us exactly where we are — in the inner and outer environment we find ourselves in — guiding us toward harmony, alignment with the present moment, and a lived experience of oneness.
Through the wisdom of Yogic philosophy, Oasis Studio was established as a space of holding: a place where we come together to be in practice, in presence, and in Yoga.
An ode to the ancient paths of various wisdom traditions directly speaking of and to the Great Mystery.
Mystery teachings were oral, symbolic, and experiential, often embedded in myth and ritual rather than written doctrine. This meant that what was transmitted was less about belief and more about direct inner transformation.
With the spread of institutional religions and later the Enlightenment emphasis on rationalism and public science, initiatory paths that required secrecy, ritual, and symbolic language were increasingly marginalised.
By the medieval period and into modernity, many of the original initiatory practices ceased to function as living mystery schools within mainstream culture.
In recent decades, there’s been a resurgence of interest in mystery school principles, not as secretive enclaves of old but as accessible, transformative paths adapted to contemporary life. Modern mystery schools like Oasis Studio blend ancient insights with current tools for self-discovery, psychology, and spiritual growth.
